Tech is now Rwanda's fastest-growing source of jobs (+62.6% in one year)

• According to NISR's Q2 2026 Labour Force Survey, employment in the ICT sector rose from ~12,000 workers (Q2 2025) to 19,000 (Q2 2026) — a 62.6% increase, the highest across all industries, versus +2.7% for total employment. The sector still represents only ~0.4% of total employment; the ICT Sector Strategic Plan 2024–2029 targets 50,000 digital jobs over five years.

Rwanda Institute of Computing: AI & cybersecurity degrees from September 2026
